Flowers and Trees of the Four Seasons

Watanabe Shikō 渡辺始興
Color painting formed from a pair of screens arranged horizontally side-by-side, each with six, narrow vertical panels, of leafy plants and flowers growing from a low, golden groundplane, with a single tall tree trunk and its lower branches on each screen. Solid gold clouds surrounded by gold dust in the background. A thin rectangular border of golden textile surrounds each screen on all sides.
