Katsushika Hokusai 葛飾北斎
Color painting showing many crabs and other crustaceans of different colors and sizes, facing in different directions, concentrated in half off the image area from the lower left to the upper right. Background is mostly blank, with some green-colored plants visible behind the crustaceans in the inhabited section. An extremely thin rectangular border of patterned textile surrounds the image on all sides.
