Tiger Family

Ganku 岸駒
Color painting formed from a pair of screens arranged horizontally side-by-side, each with six, narrow vertical panels, of tigers crossing a turbulent stream in the center. The tigers are gathered on rocky outcroppings on either side of the image, covered in green vegetation and pine trees. An adult tiger on the right crosses the water with a tiger cub in its mouth, another cub on the bank to the right, and two larger cubs on the left side bank. A thin, gold rectangular border surrounds each screen on all sides.
Pair of six-panel folding screens, ink and color on paper, 70 5/8 × 151 1/2 in. Public Domain
